Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Community Resilience Specialist to join the Office of Sustainability and Innovations, working closely with the Office of Emergency Management to develop, coordinate and execute community resilience initiatives, climate adaptation and risk communication across departments.

A bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework is required, and the City will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with coursework in marketing, sociology, communications, psychology, business or public administration.
• The City of Ann Arbor will consider an alternative combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, coordination and execution of community resilience initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Office of Sustainability and Innovations and the Office of Emergency Management.
• Apply knowledge of climate change, resilience and risk communication to community planning and engagement.
