Job summary

Northwest Passage seeks an Instructor to create educational programming and provide direct care, supervision, and support to youth in a residential setting. The role emphasizes experiential and project-based learning beyond a traditional classroom.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a social or behavioral science and have proven experience with youth facing mental health challenges. Wisconsin teaching licensure is preferred, and the schedule runs Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a social or behavioral science field or equivalent experience.
• Wisconsin teaching license is preferred.
• Proven experience working with youth with significant mental health needs.
• Strong ability to follow through on commitments and expectations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
• Ability to adapt to change and remain resilient.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision of youth across residential, outdoor, and community settings.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute educational programming initiatives.
• Integrate routines to provide a safe and structured environment.
• Ensure youths’ basic needs are met including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and rest.
• Model effective relational and communication skills with diverse youth.
• Use behavior strategies to support regulation and positive outcomes.
