Job summary

CSKT Department of Human Resource Development seeks a Residential Youth Care Worker for a one (1) contract position in the Social Services Division. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of specified trainings within the first year, including Naloxone and CPR/First Aid.

Applicants must pass comprehensive background checks, maintain confidentiality, and sign a drug testing policy. A valid driver's license is required and probation applies.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain Naloxone General User and CPR/First Aid Certified training within one year of hire date.
  • Must have training in crisis intervention, anger management, mediation, family group conferencing, conflict resolution, peer mediation or willingness to obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

  • Meet background check requirements including CPS and Driving Record checks.
  • Pass a background investigation and drug screening per CSKT policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication; mandatory reporter of child abuse/neglect.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and meet position-specific travel/background criteria.
  • Perform duties as assigned and support program operations.

RESIDENTIAL YOUTH CARE WORKERONE (1) CONTRACT POSITIONDEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (DHRD) SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
Job Responsibilities
  • Must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Will be required to obtain Naloxone General User and CPR/First Aid Certified training within one year of hire date, as directed by supervisor.
  • Will be required to have training in crisis intervention, anger management, mediation, family group conferencing, conflict resolution, peer mediation or willingness to obtain these trainings within the first year of employment, as directed by supervisor.
  • Position is a testing designated position (TDP) under the terms and conditions of the CSKT drug testing program and implementing rules.
  • This position must pass a background investigation in accordance with Public Law 101-630,25USC Section 3201 and Public Law 101-647, 42USC Section 13031, 2006 Adam Walsh Child and Protection Safety Act, Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act enacted on September 29th, 2014.
  • Includes CPS and Driving Record Background Check.
  • Must never have been convicted of or pled guilty to a crime of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual offences or crime of violence (felony).
  • Must not have resigned to avoid disciplinary action or have been dismissed from employment within the past three (3) years.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License.
  • This position is a mandatory reporter of child abuse and neglect.
  • Position is required to sign a confidentiality agreement on at least an annual basis and to observe and uphold professional levels of communication protocol.
  • Must have cell phone or landline to be contacted.
  • Will maintain and participate in other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • It will be preferred to possess an AA Degree in Social Work or related field or working towards achieving an AA degree; must verify satisfactory progress on a quarterly basis to supervisor.
  • Preferred three (3) years work experience working in a youth home environment or working with difficult teens in a structured program or with foster youth/at risk youth in an out-of-home setting.
  • Experience can include foster parent experience, treatment center experience, Job Corp experience, Youth Challenge programs, mentoring program, etc.

  • Any enrollment in a federally recognized Tribe must be submitted, if applicable.

  • FAILURE TO SUBMIT COPIES OF THE ABOVE DOCUMENTATION MAY RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR APPLICATION FROM THE SCREENING PROCESS.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT drug testing policy. A favorable determination resulting from a complete Background Investigation is required before your placement in this position.
  • The successful applicant, if not currently employed by the Tribes, must complete & pass a pre-hire drug screen and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.

The pay rate is $14.70 to $16.90 per hour, including benefits.
