Job summary

CSKT Department of Human Resource Development is seeking a MT Transitional Living Specialist for a part-time position within the Social Services Division. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field with four years of experience with at-risk youth, or an AA with two years of relevant experience.

• Must be willing to attend periodic training to increase expertise as determined by the Division Manager and/or Department Head.
• Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers and be a team player.
• Must pass background investigation and adhere to confidentiality agreements.
• Background checks include child protective service checks and driving record checks.
• Must not have DUI or related offenses in the last three years.
• This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and subject to drug testing.

The successful applicant must possess a Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field with four (4) years work experience working with at risk teenage youth or AA degree with two (2) relevant work experience. Must possess a Valid Montana Drivers License. Must be willing to attend periodic training to increase expertise as determined by the Division Manager and/or Department Head. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers as well as be a team player. Position is required to sign a confidentiality agreement on at least an annual basis and to observe and uphold professional levels of communication protocols. Must not have had a conviction of driving under the influence of substances or a per se within the last three (3) years. This position is a test designated position (TOP). This position is subject to a background check in accordance with Public Law 101-630, 25USC Section 3201 and Public Law 101-647, 42USC Section 13031; P. L. 113-183 Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act; P. L. 109-248: Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006. The background check also includes child protective service checks and driving record checks. This position is a mandatory reporter of child abuse and neglect situations. Must pass background investigation if hired. Must have never been convicted of/or pled guilty to a crime of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual offense or crime of violence (felony). Must not have resigned to avoid disciplinary actions or have been dismissed from employment within the past (3) years. No involvement with any child or social service protection agency as a client, no alcohol or drug abuse charges or domestic violence charges within the past five (5) years mandatory. Will maintain and participate in other duties as assigned. Any enrollment in a federally recognized Tribe must be submitted. Enrolled CSKT members, please submit a copy of your Tribal Identification Card. Members of another federally recognized Tribe, please submit a copy of your Tribal Identification Card. If you are not an enrolled Tribal member, documentation is not needed. If you claimed Veterans preference, a copy of the DD214 form must be submitted. You may submit letters of reference, a cover letter, and/or a resume to complement the application packet. FAILURE TO SUBMIT VERIFICATION OF THE QUALIFYING INFORMATION MAY RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR APPLICATION PACKET DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. A favorable determination resulting from a complete Background Investigation is required before your placement in this position. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes, must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. Salary range is $21.09 to $24.24 per hour.
