Job summary

Waste Pro of Florida in Ocala, FL is seeking a Residential Garbage Truck Helper (Hourly) to assist the refuse truck driver on pre‑assigned routes, loading garbage, yard waste and recycling.

You will perform a variety of manual tasks, ensure safe operation, and deliver courteous customer service to residents along the route. No CDL required; expect 8–12 hour shifts in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Be able to follow safe operating practices.
• Provide courteous customer service on all interactions.
• Work well in a team environment and follow directions.
• Read, write and comprehend daily reports and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist driver by loading waste into the rear load truck on designated routes.
• Operate packing mechanism to compact waste as required.
• Provide safe, courteous service to residents and answer questions.
• Ensure proper pickup of garbage and recyclables and direct customers if needed.
• Back up the truck safely under driver instructions from ground level.
• Perform cleanup, report safety or service issues promptly.
