Job summary

GFL is seeking a Residential Driver to safely and efficiently remove waste and recyclables from curbside and backdoor routes, delivering courteous service to customers.

You will operate front-line collection trucks, perform safety inspections, document routes, and coordinate with supervisors while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer-focused service in a dynamic residential setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety sensitive function criteria and demonstrate safe driving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks to collect waste on assigned routes.
• Load waste or recyclables into the truck and ensure secure containment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
• Report mechanical issues immediately to supervisor or mechanic.
• Maintain route quality and adhere to safety standards and company policies.
• Communicate with customers professionally and provide courteous service.
• May supervise helpers and assist with routing improvements as needed.
