Job summary

The Town of Chapel Hill seeks a team-oriented trash collector to perform routine curbside collections of trash, yard waste, bulk items, and other waste from residential properties and small businesses.

This role works outdoors in all weather, requiring a valid NC driver's license, a high school diploma, and at least one year of related experience. Safety rules apply, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Valid NC driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Ride with a refuse truck collecting waste and emptying carts.
• Assist with maintenance of rear loading vehicles.
• Handle bulky waste, yard waste, and debris after storms.
• Speak with customers about complaints and notify supervisor.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
