Job summary

Pathway Family Services in Topeka, Kansas, is looking for a Residential Unit Leader for a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. You will lead daily schedules, treatment plans, and care standards to ensure excellence in youth care.

The Unit Leader coordinates group activities, collaborates with medical, therapeutic, and educational teams, and supervises staff with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree in human services is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential program; medical care center experience is a plus.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Completion of Safe Crisis Management training (or willingness to complete upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct group activities to ensure compliance with treatment schedules.
• Monitor and report supply and curriculum needs for psychosocial programming.
• Ensure staff are equipped with materials for therapeutic groups and activities.
• Collaborate with medical, therapeutic, and educational departments for holistic care.
• Document staff interactions, incidents, and resident progress.
• Support direct care staff during emergencies or crises.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and coaching.
• Transport residents or conduct agency business using personal or agency vehicles.
• Promote cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and adherence to accreditation standards.
