Job summary

Community and Family Resources is seeking a Counselor to provide substance use and gambling treatment services to adults on the Men's Residential Unit. The role includes intake, assessment, individual and group therapy, and care coordination.

Qualifications include a BA/MA in social/behavioral sciences and a CADC/IADC certification path. The position offers full-time hours and benefits within a supportive treatment program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social/behavioral sciences is required.
• Three years of full-time substance use and/or gambling treatment counseling experience can substitute for a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Certification as CADC/IADC is expected as soon as qualifications are met per Iowa standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake/assessment and prepare assessment results and reports.
• Provide individual and family sessions aligned with treatment plans.
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate treatment programs.
• Facilitate groups and provide follow-up services.
• Educate community about substance use and problem gambling.
