Job summary

The Therapy Assistant at Rimrock Foundation provides direct support to clients in the Residential program, helping them engage in therapy goals, daily activities, and recreation while adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 standards. The role operates as an adjunct to rehab staff and the clinical treatment team to promote safety and program operations.

Responsibilities include observation, de-escalation, activity planning, documentation, and cross-department support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge and abilities to communicate and work with patients with addictions.
• Attend monthly departmental sessions and in-services.
• Needs to complete 4 hours CEU annually in Trauma Informed Care, De-escalation, Motivational Interviewing, and Suicide Awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and therapeutic support to patients and ensure safety.
• Report incidents immediately to the Supervisor and nurse on duty.
• Intervene and de-escalate situations using trauma-informed approaches.
• Assist in planning and supervising recreational, leisure and art activities.
• Encourage participation to promote social connection and emotional regulation.
• Maintain documentation in AM/PM logs and adapt activities to client needs.
