Job summary

Southwest Center of Kentucky is seeking a Residential Manager to oversee Staff Residential and Technology Assisted Residential locations, ensuring residents live safe, meaningful, and independent lives. This hands-on leader will supervise staff, monitor quality, and support individual goals within home settings.

The role requires evenings/weekends on-call availability, strong organizational and leadership abilities, and proficiency with technology-based support systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; leadership experience preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Residential services, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to coach staff, address performance concerns, and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to understand and use technology-based support systems.
• Must maintain required training and certifications.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight of assigned Staff Residential and Technology Assisted Residential locations.
• Complete routine home visits, including evenings, weekends, and other service times.
• Ensure homes are clean, safe, and reflect residents’ homes—not facilities.
• Supervise, coach, train, and hold staff accountable for performance.
• Monitor staffing schedules, open shifts, overtime, call-ins, and coverage needs.
• Participate in the residential on-call rotation as assigned.
• Ensure staff are trained before working independently.
• Review daily documentation, medication records, and individual goals.
• Confirm appointments, medical recommendations, and follow-up instructions are communicated.
• Encourage resident participation in meaningful community activities and independence.
• Respond promptly to concerns involving individuals, guardians, staff, case managers, and others.
• Participate in investigations, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
• Assist with admissions, transition meetings, and move-ins.
• Oversee use of enabling technology and medication monitoring and emergency systems.
• Review technology alerts and ensure response and follow-up.
• Promote independence and safety through technology use.
• Educate individuals, families, and partners about Technology Assisted Residential services.
• Support development and growth of Southwest Center’s residential programs.
• Maintain professional communication and respond to work emails within 24 hours.
