Job summary

Mental Health Association - Western MA is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to help individuals with acquired brain injuries live safely and with dignity. You will support daily living, promote independence, and encourage community engagement in a respectful, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to obtain MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Six months of relevant experience preferred, especially with brain injuries or mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Communicate respectfully with participants to promote self-esteem, empowerment, and independence.
• Assist with personal care, daily routines, meal preparation, and support in managing finances and transportation.
• Facilitate access to community resources and teach self-advocacy skills.
• Complete required documentation, track progress, and report incidents promptly.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility, participate in team meetings, and attend trainings.
• Demonstrate professionalism and support program goals.
