Job summary

CPM is hiring Residential Support Staff to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible in a residential setting. You will support daily living skills, implement individualized goals, and assist in community participation while documenting progress and adhering to DDS guidelines.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills; certifications must be completed within six

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Knowledge of Connecticut DDS systems preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• DDS Medication Certification, First Aid, CPR, and PMT certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered care and support.
• Implement individual goals and support strategies in accordance with DDS guidelines and CPM policies.
• Assist individuals with developing and maintaining daily living skills.
• Implement program goals and document progress according to teaching strategies.
• Transport individuals safely to medical appointments, programs, recreational activities, and community events.
• Maintain accurate vehicle mileage, service, and safety records.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and ensure progress notes and orders are obtained and submitted promptly.
• Document behavioral, medical, and program-related information.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or crisis situations.
• Report serious incidents, safety concerns, and changes in an individual’s condition to the supervisor.
• Complete other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator or management team.
