Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Residential Support Specialist to monitor clients’ status, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide a caring environment. You will conduct screenings, teach scheduled classes, and support clinical staff while maintaining client confidentiality and adherence to program policies.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, optional ICADA certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work weekends/evenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ICADA certification a plus.
• Background check required and reviewed.
• Experience communicating with clients warmly and compassionately.
• Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Harbor Light Center policies and procedures.
• Teach educational classes as assigned and maintain curriculum.
• Document class attendance and progress in ER system.
• Maintain a structured, safe environment for clients.
• Interact with clients with empathy; refer to Counselor when needed.
• Assist in admission/discharge and monitor client wellbeing.
• Support clinical staff and attend meetings as directed.
• Ensure confidentiality per standards.
