Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Indianapolis seeks a Residential Support Specialist to monitor client status, assist with admissions and discharges, and support the clinical team. You will help maintain a safe, structured environment and document attendance and progress in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, willingness to complete Safe From Harm training, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; ICADA certification a plus.
• Background checks required and reviewed.
• Experience: able to communicate warmly, with empathy and compassion; flexible schedule including weekends/evenings.
• Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Harbor Light Center policies and procedures.
• Teach educational classes as assigned; maintain curriculum and handouts.
• Document class attendance in the electronic medical record system.
• Provide support and compassion to clients; interact regularly with clients.
• Assist in admission and discharge processes; prepare rooms and provide linens.
• Accompany clients to meals, medications, and activities; assist in drug screening as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in team discussions.
• Maintain client confidentiality per standards.
