Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to empower residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. You will provide compassionate, person-centered care in a supportive home environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support each resident0s progress.

The role includes individualized care planning, daily living assistance, behavioral support, community engagement, and close teamwork with healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid drivers license and ability to drive an agency vehicle.
• Ability to pass Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Personalized Support: Develop and implement individualized care plans that reflect each resident0s needs, goals, and preferences.
• Daily Living Assistance: Help residents with essential daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household responsibilities.
• Behavioral Support: Collaborate with the care team to implement positive behavioral strategies, creating a calm and respectful living environment.
• Community Engagement: Organize and participate in recreational outings, social events, and community activities to foster inclusion and connection.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, therapists, and fellow support staff to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to care. Share observations and updates to support each resident0s progress.

• Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 2:30 pm-10:00 pm ; Wednesday/Thursday Off; Friday/Saturday 2:30 pm-10:00 pm
