Job summary

IHA is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support residents in the Pittsburgh area. You will develop individualized care plans, assist with daily living tasks, and promote independence in a supportive, community setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork with healthcare professionals and participation in social activities while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an agency vehicle.
• Ability to pass Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized care plans reflecting each resident’s needs, goals, and preferences.
• Help residents with daily tasks including personal hygiene, meals, medication administration, and household duties.
• Collaborate with the care team to implement positive behavioral strategies.
• Organize and participate in recreational outings and community activities.
• Work with healthcare professionals and fellow staff to ensure a coordinated approach and share progress observations.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, therapists, and fellow support staff to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to care. Share observations and updates to support each resident’s progress.
