North Suffolk is seeking a Residential Support Specialist - ASL to join the Bayhouse team in Revere, MA. You will provide direct care to individuals in a residential setting, helping with daily living skills, transportation, money management, medication administration, and person-centered plans to promote recovery and well‑being.

Fluency in American Sign Language is required. You will assist residents to identify goals, arrange appointments, and participate in community activities, while

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year with populations that have mental illness or substance use disorders; ASL fluency required.
• Skills: Valid driver’s license; MAP and CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within five months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, transportation, and community integration.
• Provide side‑by‑side coaching to promote independent living and recovery.
• Arrange appointments and transport residents to activities or appointments.
• Complete administrative tasks and support household duties (cooking, cleaning).
• Support residents in social engagement and participation in the community.

North Suffolk is looking for Residential Support Staff to join our Bayhouse team! As an American Sign Language Fluent Residential Support Specialist, you will provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting. The RSS will help individuals with daily living skills, transportation, skill-building, money management, medication administration, risk mitigation and other areas based on the person centered treatment plan. Services are provided based on Recovery tenets and are aimed to promote overall health and well-being of persons served.This is a great opportunity to build a career in Human Services and join an organization with room for growth!

Staff must be fluent in American Sign Language in order to be placed at Bayhouse.

What you'll do:

• Assist people with psychiatric and substance use disorders to identify personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests in order to help them establish goals that support a life in recovery.
• Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings.
• Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones or filling out paperwork.
• Assist with household tasks such as cooking and cleaning
• Provide side‑by‑side support and coaching to help people socialize to socialize and become more involved in their community

What you’ll need:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred. .
• Experience:
  • In lieu of college degree, at least one year experience with population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language
• Skills:
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be MAP certified or able to become MAP certified within five months of hire (training provided)
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified or able to become certified within five months of hire (training provided)
