Job summary

ICL is seeking an Unit Counselor to support residents in a shelter setting. The role involves direct interaction, food preparation assistance, and ensuring a clean cafeteria environment. The candidate should have a high school diploma and some experience in human services, with the ability to obtain a food handler certificate within 45 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some experience in a human services setting is preferred.
• Must obtain a food handlers certificate within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Orient new residents and support program needs.
• Communicate program processes and activities to residents.
• Use Motivational Interviewing in planned interventions.
• Provide social support and transportation for housing placements and appointments.
• Assist with meal-related tasks and food service for residents.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the cafeteria and dining areas.
