Job summary

ICL in New York is seeking a Unit Counselor for an onsite residence program. You will support residents’ care, safety and daily living activities, including food service tasks and maintaining a clean cafeteria.

The role requires a high school diploma and some experience in a human services setting; a food handler certificate within 45 days is required, and a NYS driver’s license is preferred. This is an on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in a human services setting.
• Ability to work onsite and follow program policies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in or conduct orientation for new residents.
• Provide social support to residents and assist with day-to-day living.
• Prepare, serve and maintain meals; assist with cafeteria duties.
• Record meals served and monitor cleanliness of dining areas.
• Report serious incidents and participate in required trainings.
