Job summary

Prestera Center for Mental Health Services seeks a supervising staff member to lead departmental staff, assign duties, and provide daily guidance. The role ensures policy adherence, maintains job descriptions, and mentors staff while conducting performance appraisals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
• AMAP certificate required; valid driver’s license.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word; experience with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with EHR and scheduling systems.
• Knowledge of IDDW Medicaid and Behavioral Health Licensure Regulations.
• Strong supervisory, training, and staff development skills.

Primary Responsibilities and DutiesProvides supervision to departmental staff:Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance and supervision.Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to complete their assigned job responsibilities.Ensures that employees are aware of, and adhere to, appropriate company policies and procedures.Provides input into the maintenance and upkeep of departmental job descriptions.Develops employees by being a mentor, providing support and guidance.Prepares and conducts performance appraisals.Participates in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures.Coordinates and manages all regulatory guidelines for the program.Responsible for successful staff education of and adherence to all Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) Medicaid and Behavioral Health Licensure Regulations.Conducts monthly audits of billing, timekeeping, and performance to ensure compliance with practices and quality.Ensures assigned staff remain current on all mandatory and agency-required training.Maintains a minimum two-week work schedule for group home.Primary AttributesProfessional & Technical Knowledge:Possesses the equivalent of formal training in the field, usually in the form of a major in the human services field or other related fields as part of a Bachelor’s Degree program. Must know all aspects of the trade as it is performed in the organization, sufficient to effectively train or instruct others, and to serve as a resource for employees.Continuing Education:Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices, typically acquired through continuing education.Licenses & Certifications:A valid state-issued driver’s license and an Approved Unlicensed Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) Certificate are required.Technical Skills:Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word. Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information. Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the Company.General Development:Displays more advanced organizational skills to organize projects or the work of others. Devises effective solutions to situations encountered based on the general goals and objectives of the function. Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic. Resolves conflicts that may arise because of disagreements between employees, between employees and customers/clients, or with the public, other legal entities, or governmental authorities.Work Environment:Work is performed in a public, customer-facing, high-traffic environment.
