Job summary

George Mason University's Housing & Residence Life is seeking a Coordinator of Residential Student Development Initiatives to design and execute programs advancing resident staff learning and engagement. You will coordinate training, develop curricula, and collaborate with internal and external partners to promote student success and a safe, inclusive living environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience in student affairs; 2 years of graduate level experience may be substituted for 1 year.
• Experience developing and implementing intentional programs that foster meaningful connections with students.
• Experience planning and leading large-scale programs, training, or events with multiple activities and partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates student staff training and development with HRL and university partners to provide high-quality support to residential students.
• Develops tiered training curricula aligned with University Life Core Competencies to ensure consistent service.
• Collaborates with HRL stakeholders to assess needs and keep training relevant to departmental goals.
• Leads ongoing professional development initiatives for staff and supports future training through evaluations.
• Designs and coordinates training modules for off-cycle needs to address emerging staff development.
• Engages student staff in planning and assessment of residential student engagement and learning outcomes.
