Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Structural Engineering Drafter to support a residential and light commercial project portfolio. You will develop detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit and coordinate with PEs to translate designs from concept to permit-ready drawings.

You will work on foundations, decks, retaining walls, additions, and new construction, with a focus on accuracy, timely delivery, and proper documentation of project files for review and audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting experience within structural, residential, architectural, or civil engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience supporting Professional Engineers on engineering or construction projects.
• Understanding of residential construction methods and structural design concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate drawings.
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks independently.
• Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Experience with permit and construction drawings and Excel tracking.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed structural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Develop both 2D and 3D design plans for residential and light commercial projects.
• Draft plans for foundations, decks, patios, retaining walls, home additions, repairs, and new construction projects.
• Translate engineer markups, field observations, and design specifications into accurate construction drawings.
• Collaborate with Professional Engineers to complete project deliverables.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering feedback and project requirements.
• Maintain organized project files, design documents, and supporting records.
• Coordinate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Assist with project tracking and documentation as needed.
