The Drexel Building Supply Inc. is seeking a Structural Designer to convert architectural plans into precise CAD floor layouts, tall wall sizing, and wind-bracing documentation for residential projects.

You will analyze framing components, run sizing tools, and provide inspector-ready designs while coordinating with sales QBs, builders, and inspectors to ensure 48-hour issue resolution and buildable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural design or CAD drafting for residential building projects.
• Proficiency with iS design and structural analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn residential construction practices and building codes.

Responsabilités

• Create precise structural floor layouts for residential projects.
• Size headers, tall walls, glulams using analysis tools.
• Interpret wind-bracing requirements per code.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and deliver inspector-ready docs within 48 hours.
• Maintain design logs and communicate with QBs and builders.
• Mentor and onboard new design team members.
