Job summary

Supportive Concepts is seeking a Residential Specialist to provide direct support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings. You will assist with daily activities and community participation while promoting independence and dignity.

Work closely with supervisors, families, and support teams to ensure high-quality care, compliance with licensing, and positive outcomes for people served.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• No experience required for many positions; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for individuals to medical appointments, community activities, school and day programs, religious services, family visits, and other approved activities.
• Support individuals in achieving ISP/BSP goals and follow plans.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and community inclusion.
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment and ensure licensing compliance.
• Accurately complete daily logs, progress notes, and related documentation.
• Attend meetings and participate in on-call duties as requested.

Position Summary

The Residential Specialist provides direct support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. This role assists individuals with daily activities, community participation, goal achievement, and overall well-being while promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion.

The Residential Specialist works closely with supervisors, families, and support teams to ensure quality care and compliance with all agency, licensing, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

Individual Support & Community Involvement

• Provide transportation for individuals to:
  • Medical appointments
  • Community activities
  • School and day programs
  • Religious services
  • Family visits
  • Other approved activities and destinations
• Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Behavior Support Plans (BSP).
• Follow all supervision requirements and support strategies identified in individualized plans.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and community inclusion.

Residential Support & Compliance

• Assist with annual community home licensing requirements.
• Support residential activities and ensure compliance with operational and licensing regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for individuals served.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

Accurately complete required documentation, including but not limited to:

• Medication administration logs
• Daily logs and progress notes
• Goal tracking logs
• Incident reports
• Sleep/awake charts
• Weight charts
• Bowel movement (BM) charts
• Fire drill logs
• Seizure logs
• Behavior support documentation
• Gas receipts and vehicle logs
• Consumer funds documentation

Team Collaboration

• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled home and office staff meetings.
• Assist with on-call duties and emergency situations as requested by the Community Home Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and other stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support individuals and program operations.

Qualifications Required

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred

• Previous experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a human services setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed throughout the workday
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
