Job summary

Trinity Solar is seeking a Solar Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential solar systems. You will troubleshoot inverter communications, install and repair system components, and coordinate warranty claims while working directly with homeowners.

This role requires hands-on technical work in the field, strong electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage daily service appointments with safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in PV installation, solar service, or a related technical field.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret three-line diagrams, construction plan sets, and equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to research, analyze, and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, including phone, email, and in person.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds and safely perform work on residential rooftops.
• Prior solar industry experience preferred; related trades encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform corrective maintenance on residential solar electric systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair solar inverter communication systems, including cellular cards, hardwired connections, and LAN connections.
• Adapt to changing schedules and prioritize urgent service calls to meet customer needs.
• Manage daily service appointments efficiently while maintaining productivity and quality of work.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with homeowners, team members, and other service partners.
• Document completed service work with photos, detailed notes, and accurate system updates.
• Coordinate warranty claims, repairs, and equipment replacements directly with inverter manufacturers.
• Follow established safety procedures when working with electrical systems and on residential rooftops.
• Research technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to restore system performance.
• Help ensure customers receive timely, reliable service and understand the status of their solar system issues.
