Job summary

Sunrise Community of Tennessee, Inc. is seeking Direct Support professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community and home settings.

You will support daily activities, monitor safety, and encourage participation in therapeutic and recreational programs. Requirements include a valid driver’s license, background/drug screenings, basic computer skills, a high school diploma, and prior human services experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with endorsements and driving experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• English language proficiency is required for communication with staff and clients.
• Pre-employment background and drug screenings are required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports suspected abuse or rights violations.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Supervises and mentors a team providing support and direction.
• Provides training and constructive feedback to staff.
• Implements therapy, training, and behavior programs and tracks data.
• Maintains a positive, person-directed home environment.
• Monitors compliance with agency directives and policies.
• Ensures homes and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
