Job summary

Sunrise Community of Virginia, Inc. in Oakton, VA seeks a Direct Support professional to provide supervision, support and training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them live valued lives in the community.

You will monitor safety, document plans, implement therapies, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with licensing standards. Requires valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and a HS diploma; 1 year in human services preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License with endorsements and 3 years of driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in human services; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports abuse or rights violations.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of individuals.
• Supervises and mentors a trained support team.
• Provides training and feedback to staff.
• Implements therapies, training and behavior plans as required.
