Job summary

Sunrise Community of Iowa, Inc. seeks dedicated Direct Support professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living valued, community-based lives.

You will provide supervision, support, and training to a team, ensuring safety and adherence to individual plans. The role requires a valid driver's license, completion of background and drug screenings, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License with endorsements and at least 3 years driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
• Experience in human services and supervisory roles preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills and strong communication abilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports abuse or rights violations.
• Ensures health, safety, and well‑being of individuals at all times.
• Supervises and mentors staff to support interactions with individuals with IDD.
• Provides training and constructive feedback to employees.
• Ensures implementation of therapies, training, and data collection per plans and regulators.
• Maintains a positive, person-directed environment and monitors compliance.
