Job summary

Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) seeks a Residential Aide to safeguard residents at a Gowanus/Brooklyn facility.

You will monitor safety, assist with client movements, and enforce policies while coordinating with staff to maintain a calm, secure environment. Eligible candidates bring good communication, English proficiency, and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends; prior experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with residents and staff.
• Proficiency in English; multilingual ability (Spanish) is prioritized.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights/weekends and overtime.
• Experience in safety monitoring and crisis de-escalation is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility to residents by patrolling and wearing a safety vest and ID badge.
• Screen clients and visitors and enforce site rules and policies.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth client movement and safety.
• Document incidents accurately and prepare reports as required.
• Assist with front desk duties and act as liaison with community partners.
