In this role, you will play a key part in calculating precise project costs, drafting winning proposals, and supporting the team in delivering efficient, budget-conscious results. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in metal and asphalt shingle roofing, a talent for client engagement, and the capacity to balance various tasks in a dynamic setting.

Residential Roofing Estimator

Primary Duties

Client Engagement

Consult with homeowners to evaluate their specific roofing requirements and offer tailored solutions.
Help clients understand the benefits of different roofing materials, products, and available warranties.
Drive revenue growth by following up on submitted bids and finalizing sales.
Act as the main point of contact for clients to improve their overall experience during the estimation phase.

Drafting Estimates and Proposals

Perform thorough on-site evaluations to capture precise measurements.
Analyze current roof states to determine necessary project specifications.
Generate comprehensive cost breakdowns, material lists, and formal project bids.
Determine total project expenses, including labor, materials, equipment, and third-party services.
Deliver professional, easy-to-understand estimates to potential clients to help them make informed decisions.
Create accurate pricing models for metal and asphalt roofing, accounting for ventilation, flashings, and specialized parts.
Collaborate with vendors to confirm material costs, stock levels, and delivery timelines.

Project Management

Partner with project managers and production crews to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Support the team by handling material orders and coordinating project timelines.
Facilitate a seamless handoff from the sales and estimating phase to the final installation.

Sales and Growth

Manage your sales pipeline, bids, and project status using CRM tools.
Strive to meet or surpass established revenue and sales targets.
Engage in community outreach, trade shows, and other growth-focused initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

At least 2 years of professional experience in roofing sales or estimating.
Prior practical experience in the residential roofing field is a plus.
Solid grasp of residential building standards and construction methods.
Competency in using Microsoft Office and specialized estimation software.
Ability to interpret construction plans, blueprints, and project scopes.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to foster positive client relationships.
Current driver’s license and dependable personal transport.
Expertise in residential metal roofing, such as standing seam or exposed-fastener systems, is highly desirable.
