Job summary

Mach10 Solutions is seeking a maintenance technician to uphold and repair mechanical systems across our production environment in Toledo, OH. You will monitor equipment, disassemble to reach faulty components, replace parts, and optimize performance using metalworking tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems and production hardware (motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, engines).
  • Monitor machinery and identify irregularities to locate issues.
  • Disassemble equipment to access faulty components and replace them.
  • Inspect components for wear and dimensional accuracy.
  • Modify controls and components to improve performance.
  • Restore or swap damaged parts to maximize uptime.
  • Fabricate or repair parts using grinders, lathes, and drill presses.

Job description

You will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of various mechanical systems and production hardware, including motors, conveyor lines, pneumatic tools, and engines, by executing a range of maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all established guidelines, including Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Management protocols, to ensure consistent job performance.
  • Monitor active machinery and listen for irregularities to pinpoint the source of operational issues.
  • Take apart equipment to reach and extract components that are no longer functioning.
  • Analyze the texture and shape of various parts to identify any signs of wear or damage.
  • Evaluate used components to verify if they still meet the necessary dimensional specifications.
  • Modify control instruments and functional components to optimize device performance.
  • Restore or swap out damaged parts to help maintain high equipment uptime.
  • Integrate structural and functional upgrades into existing machinery.
  • Perform routine cleaning and lubrication to ensure equipment longevity.
  • Activate machinery to verify that repairs have successfully restored performance.
  • Utilize metalworking equipment like grinders, lathes, and drill presses to fabricate or fix necessary parts.
  • Request necessary components and machinery through the formal purchase order process.
  • Execute repairs on various electrical systems.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly following OSHA lockout/tagout standards.

Education and Background

Candidates should hold a GED or high school diploma, combined with one to three months of relevant training or experience, or a similar blend of both. Preference is given to those who have completed a degree or a formal apprenticeship program.

Communication Skills

You must be able to read and understand basic memos and instructions, as well as draft simple written updates. Furthermore, you should be comfortable conveying information clearly during small group discussions or one-on-one interactions with colleagues and clients.

Mathematical Proficiency

The role requires basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using decimals, fractions, and whole numbers. You should also be capable of calculating percentages, ratios, and rates, as well as analyzing bar graphs.

Problem-Solving

You will need to apply practical judgment to execute instructions provided in oral, written, or diagrammatic formats. The ability to resolve issues involving multiple variables in standard scenarios is essential.

Credentials

Completion of a professional degree or a government-recognized apprenticeship is preferred.

Physical Requirements

To perform this job, you must meet specific physical standards, though reasonable accommodations are available for those with disabilities.
