Job summary

Model Remodel is seeking an Architect to join our Seattle team. The role centers on technical design leadership, permit strategy, and ensuring buildable, Code-aligned documentation for residential remodels.

You will work with designers, estimators, and production to keep projects on schedule and profitable. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of residential experience, an active WA license, and strong knowledge of codes.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State Architect license required.
• 5–8 years of experience in residential architecture or remodeling design.
• Experience supporting permit strategy and jurisdictional coordination for residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, zoning requirements, and energy codes.
• Ability to review and guide architectural drawings for functionality, constructability, and code compliance.
• Experience coordinating with Designers, structural/energy consultants, estimators, and construction teams to produce coordinated drawing sets.
• Identify architectural risks early and communicate clear, practical recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Collaborative communicator across disciplines and stakeholders.
• Degree in Architecture or related field required.
• Seattle-area jurisdictions experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural oversight and lead permit strategy for assigned residential remodeling projects.
• Coordinate with Designers, Client Services, Estimating, Production, and external consultants to maintain standards across drawings.
• Ensure documentation is buildable, constructible, and code-aligned to meet client goals and profitability.
