Job description

About Us

Refine Design Architecture is a small, design-focused residential architecture firm specializing in custom homes, renovations, and additions throughout Washington State. We believe thoughtful design comes from collaboration, curiosity, and attention to detail. Our projects range from mountain retreats in the Methow Valley to homes throughout Central and Western Washington.

As a small firm, everyone contributes across multiple aspects of a project. We value team members who are proactive, resourceful, and excited to take ownership of their work while collaborating closely with others.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced residential architectural professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to be an integral part of a growing firm.

Rather than filling a narrowly defined position, we're looking for someone who can contribute throughout the design process—from early design studies through construction documents and permitting—and who enjoys helping move projects forward.

You'll work directly with the principals and project architect on a variety of custom residential projects while taking increasing ownership as your familiarity with our work grows.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Revit models throughout all phases of design.
  • Produce high-quality drawing sets from schematic design through construction documents.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, geotechs, and structural engineers.
  • Assist with permitting and jurisdictional coordination.
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute ideas.
  • Help maintain drawing quality, consistency, and office standards.
  • Proactively identify project needs and help keep projects moving forward.
  • Balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines and communicating project status.
We're Looking For Someone Who…
  • Has 5+ years of professional architectural experience, with custom residential experience strongly preferred.
  • Is highly proficient in Revit.
  • Can work independently while knowing when collaboration adds value.
  • Is resourceful and comfortable researching past projects, details, and office standards before seeking direction.
  • Exercises good professional judgment when balancing quality, efficiency, and deadlines.
  • Takes initiative rather than waiting for assignments.
  • Communicates early when encountering roadblocks.
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative small-firm environment where responsibilities vary from project to project.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: DOE
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Health & Dental Insurance
  • Flexible work environment
  • Opportunities for professional growth and increasing project responsibility
