Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties in Orland Park, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment communities in excellent working order. The role covers routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems, with a focus on resident satisfaction.

You will troubleshoot issues, respond to maintenance requests, inspect properties, and work with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Team player with good communication and reliability.
• Willingness to work after-hours or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Perform snow and ice removal.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
• Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.
