Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties in Kansas City, KS is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on property systems and equipment. You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems and respond to resident maintenance requests.

Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager, you’ll prioritize work orders, assist with turnovers, and participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general repairs.
• Team player who communicates effectively and is detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Perform snow and ice removal.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
