Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a proactive maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and maintain rental homes in the Cleveland area. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical tasks while upholding safety and quality during daily visits.

You will travel between properties, conduct inspections and turnovers, and document conditions with handheld devices. Strong communication, problem-solving, and owning tools/vehicle are essential for success in this autonomous role.

Qualifications

• Multi-trade knowledge across carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and property turns.
• Customer-focused with strong communication for residents and teams.
• Ownership of work orders with clear timelines and follow-through.
• Tech-savvy with handheld devices for work orders and updates (iOS).
• Valid driver’s license; reside within reasonable proximity to properties.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across trades (carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Travel between properties within the metro daily.
• Conduct property inspections, secure homes, and handle turnover or vacancy checks.
• Handle minor pre-renovation repairs and basic troubleshooting.
• Use handheld devices to document property conditions and updates.
