Job summary

Birch Family Services in Manhattan, NY is seeking a dedicated program supervisor to ensure adequate shift coverage and coordinate medication management for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

You will work closely with schools and day treatment programs, document logs and progress, and participate in meetings. The role requires a strong background in human services, organizational skills, and compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or related human service field; equivalent combination considered.
• Minimum 3-year experience working with developmentally disabled population, preferably in a residential/health/treatment setting.
• Minimum 3 years administrative/managerial experience with emotionally disabled population.
• Must complete Medication Administration Course within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure shifts have adequate coverage and inform Program Coordinator of absences.
• Maintain schedules and ensure staff responsibilities are communicated.
• Monitor that individuals follow schedules and manage DCCs with logs.
• Collaborate with nurses on medical issues and schedule medical appointments.
• Conduct fire drills and document safety procedures as scheduled.
• Provide in-house training to new employees.
