Job summary

County of Santa Clara's Department of Family and Children’s Services is seeking a Residential Manager to oversee three state-licensed 24-hour residential care facilities for youth. You will supervise staff, ensure licensing compliance, and lead day-to-day operations while maintaining a trauma-informed, safe environment for high‑risk youths awaiting placement.

With a Master’s degree and several years of supervisory experience in behavioral health or social work, you will coordinate program goals,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Four years of supervisory/administrative management experience in behavioral health serving children and adolescents, including at least one year in residential care.
• Licensing and STRTP knowledge or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as facility Administrator ensuring licensing, staffing, and clinical requirements compliance.
• Oversees trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices.
• Plans, organizes, directs facility programs to meet resident health and safety needs.
• Prepares reports, monitors budget, and supports Medi-Cal processes.
• Hires and supervises staff; directs subordinate staff; ensures alignment with treatment plans.
• Facilitates multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
• Maintains awareness of laws and regulations and ensures compliance.
• Performs other related duties.
