Job summary

Mecklenburg County Government's LUESA is seeking a paraprofessional to support residential project management, plan review, permitting and inspections under general supervision. You will schedule reviews, review permit packages for completeness, assist the public and contractors, generate reports, and help ensure permits and construction meet standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in the area of assignment.
• Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Surveying, or RealEstate
• Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted.
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
• Must obtain and maintain a Mecklenburg County Operator's Permit

Responsibilities

• Assist the public, contractors, and/or other interested parties with inquiries about residential construction, permit and bond processing.
• Coordinate requests with departmental staff and external customers; generate reports.
• Review permit packages for completeness and assist with planning review and inspections.
• Provide front office support as needed, including phones and in-person service.
• Support engineers, land surveyors, developers, and builders with data and coordination for projects.
