Job summary

Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga is seeking a Tompkins Residential Assistant to provide operational and administrative support for transitional housing units in Ithaca. This role oversees housing operations, logistics, and resident services to maintain a safe, organized living environment.

The position emphasizes rent management, data entry in HMIS, coordination of purchases, and collaboration with the housing team on resident engagement and program reports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human service or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential setting.
• Experience with culturally diverse populations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial aspects of housing, including rent collection from residents and paying bills for all sites.
• Track rent payments and assist with DSS rent assistance applications.
• Coordinate purchasing for residential operations (supplies, food, materials).
• Support invoicing and financial documentation with Residential Director as needed.
• Coordinate admin tasks for housing operations and prepare quarterly funder reports.
