Job summary

Vera French Community Mental Health Center in Davenport, IA is seeking full-time Residential Nurses (LPNs or RNs) to join a small 15-bed unit where you can build meaningful, long-term relationships with residents facing mental and medical challenges.

You will direct staff, implement individualized treatment plans, and provide high-quality nursing care in a supportive team environment. A valid Iowa nursing license and an associate degree in nursing are required, with a bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of Iowa.
• Ability to relate in a respectful, constructive manner with excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Routinely function in the charge nurse position and direct other personnel in the performance of their duties.
• Plan and direct other personnel in implementation of independent and dependent nursing functions and interventions per Iowa Administrative Code.
• Provide leadership in the delivery of general nursing duties.
• Transcribe physician orders, administer medications, observe and report resident responses, and complete documentation.
• Participate in development and implementation of resident Treatment Plan.
