Job summary

Signature Companies is seeking independent contractors to perform Residential Insurance inspections. As a 1099 contractor, you will travel to client locations, conduct inspections, take photographs, record measurements, and produce detailed reports for underwriting review.

Work is paid per completed report with monthly invoicing. Maintain a 21‑day turnaround for each inspection while setting your own schedule.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of relevant inspection or underwriting experience.
  • Reliable transportation and a high‑speed internet connection.
  • Smartphone, tablet, and personal computer ownership.
  • Proficiency with inventory and reporting software.
  • Preferred: prior underwriting or residential inspection experience; CPCU or IIA certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Document construction details, unique architectural features, and ownership risks.
  • Identify underwriting concerns and outline recommendations to prevent future losses.

Requirements
  • At least two years of comparable experience (e.g., home inspector, loss control, or underwriting).
  • Reliable transportation and a high‑speed internet connection.
  • Digital camera, measuring wheel or equivalent tool, and Microsoft Windows PC.
  • Proficiency with inventory and reporting software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Preferred: prior underwriting or residential inspection experience, construction background, loss‑control experience, BA/BS degree. Preferred certifications include CPCU or IIA.
  • Must own a smartphone, tablet, and personal computer.
