Job summary

Brandeis University is seeking Residential Mentors to support a one-week summer TRIO Upward Bound program for low-income, first-generation high-school students from Waltham High School. Mentors will live on campus and help supervise, engage students, and run activities during the residential week.

Training before the week and compensation of $17 per hour plus room and meals are provided. This on-campus role emphasizes safety, mentorship, and teamwork within a dynamic program.

Qualifications

• Experience working with high-school students or youth programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise students in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during program and residential activities
• Support student engagement and community building
• Coordinate evening check-ins and nighttime monitoring
• Enforce program and residence hall expectations
• Communicate student concerns to professional staff
• Assist with program setup and daily operations
• Support academic programming and workshops
• Assist with evening programming, including social and leadership activities
• Build positive relationships with students while maintaining boundaries
