Job summary

Paths Building Services LLC in Newark, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician / Handyperson to support residential building upkeep. This hands-on role covers plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical work, and general maintenance, with coordination from the Property Manager for tenant access.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, and offers on-call rotations with travel compensation. High school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication with tenants and staff.
• Able to perform a wide range of repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
• Experience in residential building maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to properties, including light plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and light electrical.
• Coordinate with Property Manager/Superintendent to schedule tasks.
• Coordinate with tenants to access apartments for repairs.
• Manage service requests and log work performed.
• Perform renovation work as needed and maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Assist in on-call rotations with compensation for travel to property.
