Job summary

Maloney Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a large portfolio of residential properties in Boston's historic South End. You will join our maintenance team whose responsibilities include performing repairs, completing work orders, and coordinating with the Superintendent on assignments.

Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 with on-call duties shared on rotation. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health benefits and 13 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy.
• Experience in residential property maintenance; skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive and cohesive team, as well independently.
• Willingness to cross-train at other sites and learn the entire portfolio over time.
• Ability to communicate professionally by phone and email using a smartphone app.
• Previous experience with Yardi or other management software preferred.
• This position includes participation in the emergency on-call rotation and snow removal.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for occupancy.
• Completing work orders, light electrical, plumbing, carpentry work, and general building maintenance.
• Updating the Yardi mobile app and communicating with the Superintendent on completed and on-going work assignments.
• Assisting with capital projects and providing access to contractors as needed.
