Job summary

Highpoint is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform troubleshooting and repair of apartment and public-area systems, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC. The role emphasizes assisting in upkeep of residential properties through semi-skilled tasks and proper documentation.

The technician will respond to emergencies, complete work orders promptly, and support other maintenance staff. A high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years in a senior living or residential setting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
• Must have knowledge of HVAC.
• Must communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including electrical, plumbing, doors and fixtures.
• Perform HVAC maintenance as assigned.
• Conduct preventive maintenance following manufacturers' recommendations.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Complete work orders with detailed task and equipment information.
• Assist other maintenance personnel on various projects.
• Maintain adequate levels of materials and supplies.
• Possess flexibility for overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
