Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS in Tampa is seeking a maintenance technician to join our housing facilities team. You will receive and prioritize work orders, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HV/AC equipment, and coordinate with contractors and vendors.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, maintenance certification preferred, five years' experience, and a valid driver's license. On-site work with travel between sites as needed; we offer competitive hourly pay and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and maintenance certification, plus five years' experience working as a maintenance technician who oversees apartment and/or large residential facilities.
• Experience in general repair and maintenance work
• Ability to coordinate sporadic high levels of activity and work under deadlines.
• Ability to work overtime, if needed
• Ability to lift and/or move items in excess of 50 pounds; must adhere to safety guidelines

Responsibilities

• Receives and prioritizes work orders for general repairs and completes repairs as received; documents progress and completion
• Performs general upkeep and maintenance of the building interior and exterior grounds (including preventive maintenance)
• Supports turnover of vacant units in partnership with contractor(s) and vendors
• Evaluates HV/AC equipment and conducts basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
• Order and maintain replacement and spare parts for the facility and equipment
• Service refrigerators and stoves as needed
• Visually inspect and test electrical outlets yearly throughout the complex
• Receives, verifies, and counts inventory and direct purchases
• Able to work on emergency calls
• Supports the supervision and completion of capital projects by outside vendors as directed by the Director of Housing
• Coordinates and supervises the completion of work by outside vendors as needed
• Travels between Heron (Tampa) and Egret (New Port Richey) to complete necessary maintenance as directed by the Director of Housing
• Completes and remains current on all relevant Fair Housing, HUD, and Gulf Coast JFCS training
• Participates in staff meetings and staff development opportunities
