Job summary

WSH Management Milpitas, CA is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for a 101-unit residential property. You will handle electrical and plumbing repairs, light carpentry, appliance troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance, while coordinating with vendors and performing apartment turns.

The role is 80% maintenance and 20% porter/grounds duties, with an 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, and on-call after hours. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• 1-2 years relevant experience or apartment maintenance experience.
• On-call and weekend service experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven working experience in electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs.
• Proven working experience as a janitor / porter.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect property and equipment daily to determine needs and personnel required.
• Respond to service requests on a first-come, first-served basis, with emergency exceptions.
• Implement and supervise Preventative Maintenance program.
• Update maintenance schedules for HVAC, safety devices, gutters, leaks.
• Submit monthly property safety inspection reports.
• Assist with apartment turns and coordinate bids from contractors.
• Direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specs.
• Purchase and maintain maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Provide on-call emergency coverage as needed.
• Communicate with Property Manager to meet company standards.
