Job summary

Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Community Director to lead a residential community of 400-600 undergraduates, guiding a team of 15-26 Resident Advisers and aligning programs with Pro Humanitate values.

This live-in, twelve-month position requires strong supervision, collaboration with faculty, and oversight of emergencies, student conduct, budgeting, and housing operations to support student learning and inclusive, safe communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of one year of full-time experience in Housing/Residence Life or related student services.
• Commitment to foster student learning, inclusivity, and development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of programs to increase student success and retention.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop 15 to 26 Resident Advisers (RAs).
• Develop area vision and team development plans with weekly staff meetings.
• Coordinate RA training, selection, and recognition activities.
• Oversee community initiatives, engagement, and academic development of residents.
• Serve as instructor for Resident Adviser course and participate in committees.
• Coordinate administrative tasks including budget, StarRez, and housing operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies and crisis response.
